The modernisation and expansion of the combined cycle power plant planned by EVH GmbH was designed by Dornier as the general planner. The combined cycle power plant, which was modernised in 2005, was upgraded with two identical gas and steam turbine units (units A and B) with district heating extraction, an electrical output of 47 MW and a district heating output of 55 MW per unit, as well as a district heating storage facility with a storage capacity of 280 MWh. The existing combined cycle power plant was expanded to include a block C with an electrical output of approximately 50 MW.
Dornier supervised the project through HOAI phases 1 to 8, from the basic evaluation to acceptance, including implementation planning, approval planning, contract awarding and project supervision.
